We’ve partnered with Tugg.com, a web platform that helps individuals, groups, and organizations set up personalized movie screening at a local movie theater near you. And the best part is, there is no need to outlay any money for a licensing fee or venue rental — in fact, as a screening host, you will receive 5% of tickets sales, or you can even use screening as a fundraiser for your organization using Tugg’s handy feature. Here’s the trick though – you need to pre-sell a certain amount of tickets in order for the event to be confirmed! It’s as easy as 1-2-3:
Create your event: Click on the “At a Theater Near You” button or go to this page and click on “Host an Event.” Fill out the simple form on the site with your desired screening date, place and time (it’s best if you do this at least six weeks in advance). Tugg will reserve the theater and make all the other arrangements for the showing. They will also create a personalized Event Page for you on their website.
Promote your event: When your Event Page is up and running, then it’s up to you to spread the word to your community. The key to success for your Zero Weeks theatrical screening depends on the direct action of your audience, so be sure to rally your community. Make sure you communicate that the event will only happen if enough tickets are reserved before the deadline — this is essential since most folks are used to buying movie tickets the day of the event.
Meet the threshold: Once enough tickets are reserved to meet the threshold, your event will be confirmed and you can sit back and enjoy the show! Don’t worry, though. If the threshold isn’t reached within the allotted time, no one will be charged a penny. The event will simply be canceled.
Tugg’s team has made it all very easy but of course questions will come up. Please feel free to contact the wonderful support team at Tugg.com anytime.
If you’d like to host a screening in your own event space, conference room, library or classroom, simply click on the “At Your Community Venue or Campus” button or fill out this Screening Request Form. Once your form is submitted, someone from the Zero Weeks team will be in touch with details to purchase a licensing fee and select your desired format of the film, as well as provide support materials such as marketing assets and a Planning + Discussion Guide. For any question about this process, please email the Zero Weeks team.
